The or significance using relative importance indices.

The
result in table 3 reveals the distribution of respondents based on the factors
influencing the utilization of fresh-water fish species for trado-medicine and
other purpose in the study area. The factors influencing the utilization of
fresh-water fish species for trado-medicine and other purpose were subjected into
eighteen variables. Efforts were made to classify the variables into their
level of importance or significance using relative importance indices. It is important to note that the mean point for
this variable is 2.0 and this was used as the benchmark. Therefore, any
variable found to be lesser than the mean score (2 points) are consider as less
important or relevant while the variables found to be equal or above the mean
score are regarded as very important or relevant and they are ranked according
to relative important indices.

Fifteen variables out of the
eighteen variables are more relevant to the factors influencing the utilization
of fresh-water fish species for trado-medicine in the study area. People in the
study area are influence by the potency and effectiveness of fish medicine
compare to orthodox medicine with relative important indices of 0.98 and

significant to the factors influencing the utilization of fresh-water fish
species for trado-medicine in the study area. The variables are accessibility
to fish species needed for fish medicine in the environment with relative
importance indices of 0.62 and accorded 16th position. Follow by
ready-made market or demand for fish medicine products (0.51) and it is a
profitable business (0.48) with 17th and 18th positions
respectively. Hence, the study reveals that the potency of fish medicine and
