For me personally there isn’t just one consequence as a result of climate change that causes me the most concern. One of the consequences that concerns me is the different weather affects that the constantly rising temperature plays into. Hurricanes are only expected to become much more frequent and even lasts for longer periods of time in the future. The intensity that they bring as well as how strong they are when they hit are also expected to increase as the global climate increases. Along with hurricanes, other disasters that are expected to worsen include droughts, floods, heat waves, and storms. There are many problems that arise from these consequences that will affects the public’s safety. Some of these problems include access to clean water due to drought, uncontrollable wildfires, and flash flooding. It’s also been seen around the world in some places what happens when there’s a lack of clean drinking water, it leads to disease and even death in some cases. Another consequence of climate change that troubles me is the increasing death rate. The constantly increasing temperatures have directly and indirectly correlated with both illness and death. In the United States alone there are hundreds of deaths that occur yearly due to heat affects like heat strokes, heat exhaustion, and cardiovascular diseases. It is a known fact that more people in the United States are killed from extreme heat than they are from floods, tornadoes, and hurricanes combined. Climate change is real and could bring about a future full of surprises that no one is looking forward to. The sad part about this is that because of the absurd amount of pollution people have pumped into the atmosphere, there will be some type of consequences that come about no matter what anyone does. On the flip side if we find a way to drastically reduce global emissions we can possibly avoid some of the more severe consequences that climate change would bring about.  Explain the difference between Nuclear Fusion and Nuclear Fission. Nuclear fusion and nuclear fission are both nuclear reactions that produce energy. During nuclear fission, heat energy is released due to the splitting of atoms. This process takes place when high speed particles are slammed into unstable isotopes. When this happens the target, nucleus breaks down into smaller isotopes and a very large amount of energy. The energy from this process is what is then used in nuclear reactors, which in turn produces electricity. Nuclear fusion is when two low- mass isotopes, like hydrogen for example, are infused together under extreme pressure and temperature, which results in a release of energy several times the amount of energy that is produced during nuclear fission. Nuclear fusion is the driving force behind the universe. Scientist have attempted to generate energy from nuclear fusion here on earth in a controlled manner and have not been successful in creating a controlled sustainable environment. So, while fission is able to be controlled and used in nuclear power reactors, fusion isn’t able to be used to produce power since the reaction is so uncontrollable. The main differences between the two reactions are that in a reaction where a heavy nucleus is broken into smaller ones through the release of neutrons and energy, this is known as fission, while the process where two atoms are combined in order to create a heavy nucleus is known as fusion. There are certain conditions that need to be met for each process that differ from each other. Nuclear fusion is created under extreme conditions, such as high temperature and pressure. Conversely, conditions for nuclear fission involve critical mass of whatever substance is being used along with neutrons. While fusion can occur naturally, as it does in the sun for example, nuclear fission doesn’t occur naturally and has to be created. Energy needed for the process of fission is much less than the energy needed for a fusion reaction. On the other hand, energy produced from fission reactions is about three times less than the energy produced from nuclear fusion.
