About

Founded in 1985, the forum is an overarching body that promotes interest in all aspects of Wiltshire local history and acts as a portal through which groups can promote their activities to a wider audience.  Membership of the forum is open to individuals, groups and societies, museums, libraries, etc.

Newsletters are published by the Forum during the year and contributions to the newsletters from members are encouraged.

Conferences, held in spring and autumn, are themed one-day events with invited speakers and displays by member societies.  The Forum’s AGM is held during the spring event.

The Forum holds in reserve an interest-free loan fund to assist with publishing and other local history projects in the county.  Applications from members are encouraged.

WLHF is a member of the British Association for Local History.
